ROLE: Senior DevOps Engineer

Job description:

 

Primary Skill Set :

  • 6+ years’ experience with cloud platforms - deployments and services AWS.
  • Must have experience in Terraforms
  • Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes
    • 3+ years’ experience in configuration and operating systems management and data and business analysis
  • Experience in source and project control (GitHub Jira) - hands-on
  • Experience in automation using Go, Python, C, C , Ansible or Shell scripting
  • Experience in Monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, QRadar, New Relic, sysdig, logDNA)
  • Experience in Continuous Integration platforms (Jenkins, Terraform, TeamCity, Travis CI)
  • Experience in Load balancing, geo routing, and proxying
  • Experience in Networking Firewalls and Load Balancing
  • Experience in NoSQL databases, key-stores and other data-structure solutions (MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience in Virtual application and web servers (Apache, NGINX, WebSphere, IIS)
  • Ability to communicate detailed information – verbally and in writing

 

Secondary Skill Set:

  • Snowflake, Databricks, Mulesoft (any one skill would be add on advantage)

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in training engineering staff on DevOps principles to foster communication and collaboration amongst software, infrastructure, and test engineering teams
  2. Amplifies feedback loops with all customers and embeds knowledge and learnings into decision making and engineering processes
  3. Serves as a DevOps advocate to engineering teams
  4. Assesses customer requests and changes to business solutions in terms of cost, benefits, and impact for enterprise-wide optimization
  5. Provides guidance to customers and business analysts regarding the performance, customer service, and cost management issues related to a proposed technical solution
  6. Assists other stakeholders in defining and building development workflows and tools across the entire software engineering system
  7. Assists engineering leadership in developing fully-automated and continuously deployed applications
  8. Ability to set SLOs, SLAs, SLIs and incident response process
  9. •Team management , planning and prioritization
  10. Serves as a technical advisor on software engineering projects
  11. Identifies, defines, directs, and performs analyses to resolve project issues
  12. Participates in the development of RFPs.
